Soccer teams will now be ordering for the fall season. We have hundreds of soccer designs your teams can choose from as well as the products to apply to these uniforms. Soccer uniforms are typically 100% polyester. All Transfer Express products will apply to this fabric. If they are labeled “dazzle polyester”, that is just a finish and will not effect the transfer application. One thing to watch for is “sublimated” 100% polyester. These still can be decorated with our Polytrans screen printed transfers, but you will need to order at least a 2 color print, with the dark color as the outline/background color to block the sublimated dye. For example, if you are using white ink on a red sublimated shirt, we recommend ordering white with a black outline.
Our digitally printed Cad-Printz™ are also great for soccer uniforms especially heart size crests that can be applied to almost any uniform. Cad-Printz ™ are full color so your teams can really stand out at a low cost this season.

April 22nd marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day! Many groups, schools and organizations will be gathering to help clean up our Earth and spread the word about how important it is to keep our planet clean and healthy. Custom Earth Day t-shirts are worn by many of the groups and sold to the public to raise money to help their efforts. Since this year is an anniversary year many people will be gathering at parks, environmental fairs and rallies which is a perfect time to gain more profits or help raise money to give back to the environment.
Start with a few Easy Prints® designs and purchase organic cotton t-shirts to heat print them to with your professional heat press. Below are a few ideas to get your started. Keep in mind, during these events there are many volunteers and staff helping out. It is very easy to add a line of text or names to the back of your Earth Day t shirts with the word “VOLUNTEER” or “STAFF”.
Do your customers want to give away reusable bags for repeated trips to the grocery store? Polypropylene bags are popular for reducing the number of plastic bags in our landfills but they are very difficult to heat print on since they melt under high temperatures. Elasti Prints® screen printed transfers apply at a low temperature and are perfect for this type of application!

100% or 50/50 Fabrics – Which works best for transfers?

Two of the most common types of t shirts and hooded sweatshirts customers request are 100% cotton and 50/50 cotton/polyester blends. For applying screen printed transfers though, which one works best and is there any difference in the finished product after the heat transfer is applied? For the finished product the answer is, “No, there is no difference in the quality or durability of the finished product if using 100% or 50/50 t shirts or hoodies”. The plastisol ink will attach itself to the fabric fibers in the same way.
Now, before the custom transfer is applied to the garment is where you may see a difference. The difference between 100% cotton and a 50/50 is the amount of moisture in the fabric fibers. The 100% cotton t shirt or hooded sweatshirt will hold more moisture and will need to be prepressed for a longer duration to remove the moisture. This is done before the transfer is applied.
Which screen printed ink formulas work best for the different types of fabric?
50/50 Cotton Polyester blends – Goof Proof®, Hot Split, Polytrans, as well as every other heat transfer that Transfer Express manufactures.
100% Cotton – Same as 50/50.
Recommendation:
Hot Split transfers will apply to 100% cotton however a longer prepress time is needed. All you need to do is pre-press for a few more seconds or until you do not see any more “steam” being released.
