Thank you to everyone who voted on our new trendy Easy Prints®, customizable layouts by our own Great Dane Graphics. Many voted, but three rose to the top as the top three layouts. They are Easy Prints layout QLW-60, QBK-180 and QSW-47. All three of these had the fashion look like you find at Abercrombie or Hollister. They are easy to make your own by just changing the text, and choosing a clip art, colors and size. If you are a current dealer, you can preview a proof on your free Easy View™, or if you are new to Transfer Express, your order can be placed by phone.

First Sneak Peek of Great Dane Designs To Create Your Custom Transfers

Here are the first five designs of the new Easy Prints® customizable layout collection from Great Dane Graphics. These are now orderable and can be customized for your needs using Easy View™, our free design tool for all Transfer Express dealers.
The first five designs include a layout from our recreation, mascot, religion, all star and basketball sections. But the section is just a starting point and the layout can be customized to fit your specific needs. If you love the look of the basketball layout but want it for your baseball team—just change the basketball player to a baseball player and the text to fit your needs.
Get creative with colors too! You can show your customer the same design in 1 color or 2 colors but more can be added – just put what other colors are needed and the color placement in notes and our design team will make it happen.
These five designs will be five of the choices for the ‘vote for your favorite design’ on January 18th. Three lucky voters will win $50 towards their own order.

We are excited to be able to provide you with the not only the largest collection of customizable layouts, but also the best. This year we have added over 200 new layouts to our Easy Prints® customizable transfer layout collection, giving your customer thousands of choices and giving you the ability to provide artwork with just a few clicks.
Beginning this week, we will be giving you a sneak peak of some of these layouts by Great Dane Graphics, a new member of the Stahls’ team, whose artwork is now part of the Easy Prints custom transfer layout collection. These new Easy Prints provide your customer with the look similar to what you find in the fashion retail stores like Abercrombie, Hollister and The Buckle!
Each Wednesday we will release five of the new layouts. As they are released they will be orderable online and viewable customized on our Easy View™ design tool, free to all Transfer Express dealers.

Custom Matching T-shirts for Girls and Their Dolls

Vacations are a great time for relaxation but also inspiration. I love seeing all the custom t-shirt designs and sayings when in a new city. On a recent trip to Chicago while waiting for my teenage son to get up, I ventured to the American Girl® store. As the mother of two sons, this is foreign territory for me and I was amazed at the store. There are floors full of dolls, doll clothing and accessories, a restaurant for you and your doll and even a doll salon.
One of their new lines is a great idea for our customers who market to girls such as dance teams, camps, cheerleading groups, and sports teams. They had an area where you chose a stock design and a matching shirt is created for both the girl and the doll. You can take this to the next level with custom printed shirts for girl and doll. Those little shirts would be a great add on sale or a way to differentiate you from the competition. And a perfect use for those extra prints you can fit on a screen printed transfer gang sheet (a sheet printed with more than one image)!

Custom Transfers with Bling – Metallic, Glitter or Foil?

Is your customer looking to brighten the look of their printed apparel? If so, there are three different custom transfer options available.
The most durable and least expensive is our Goof Proof® in metallic silver ink. Plastisol, screen printed metallic ink transfers do have flecks of metal for some sparkle, but it is the most subtle “bling” of the three. It is the best choice for athletic or school items that need to be durable for constant wear.
The second option is glitter. This has a lot of shine and is probably preferred by females. It is still very durable since it is a screen printed ink. Cheer and dance teams seem to love the glitter as it meets both needs – it adds sparkle and is still durable.
The third option is foil. This is actually a 2 step process as you need both a transfer and the foil product to put over it. This is the look desirable for fashion items and is great because you can choose to foil just a portion of the print giving a 2 texture look at just a 1 color price. However, this is the least durable of the three but by using it with the metallic silver ink, in time if the foil does flake off, you still have a very durable metallic silver print on the shirt.

It’s Festival Time-A Great Opportunity for Shirt Sales

The weather is finally warm and the festivals have started. Maybe it is because we were stuck inside all winter, but these seem especially popular in the Midwest. Every weekend you can find a church festival locally as well as larger ones in the major cities. I love the food you find at these festivals, while others like to try their luck at the Monte Carlo events. But every festival needs shirts for those working the festival, or as many to sell as well. Just search festivals in your area online to find a listing of area festivals (and possible customer list) Our Easy Prints® can help you and you don’t even need to be an artist—just creative. Use any section and add clip art and text to fit your needs. Here locally this weekend we have common festivals like a Strawberry Festival and Brew Week Fest to the more unusual like the Duct Tape Festival (Miss America will even be there in an outfit she created with Duct tape!) Just to show you how creative you can be, I used layouts from the event, championship and fashion sections and tried my hand at customizing for each of these events! Ok – the Duct tape one was a challenge and I chose to use a duck, which is the mascot for the company headquarters of a duct tape company located in the festival’s location!

Add Style to Your Custom T-shirt Designs with Free Internet Fonts

Fonts are a good way to enhance your designs. Fonts themselves are a whole industry in itself. There are some people that design fonts for a living.
Searching for and downloading new fonts can be quick and easy. Once you know how, you can spend endless amounts of time searching for fonts that you like. There are literally thousands and thousands of fonts online that designers have created. Some fonts are free to use while others you must pay for. Most fonts have some sort of licensing agreement so you must know your end use when it comes to using new fonts.
Searching for new fonts can be fun. A certain font can really improve your design. There are different kinds that go with various types of designs.
To begin searching for new fonts, Google is the best place to start. If you don’t really know what you’re looking for, basic searches like “fonts” or “free fonts” will be a good start. If you have more of an idea of what type of font you would like, you might try more specific searches like “script fonts” or “block letter fonts”. Most font sites will have a variety. If you find a page you like, you can browse their selections. Some sites to try are www.dafont.com or www.myfonts.com.
Once you find a font you like, the next part is to download and install the font in the correct place on your computer in order to use it.
For this example, you found a font that will match the design you are working on. You simply download the font to your computer. Most sites will have a download button. Make sure to save it to a location where you can find the files for the next step. You may have to unzip the font. After you download and unzip the font if needed, there is one more step before you can use it. You must put the font file into the correct place on your computer. For Windows users, this location is C:\Windows\Fonts.
To move this file, open the folder that you downloaded. Copy the font file only. There are different types of fonts, so depending on the type of font you downloaded, it may have a different file extension. For this example, it is an Open Type Font, so the file extension is “.otf”. Another common font extention is .ttf.
Copy the downloaded font file.
Next, open your “C” drive (your computer’s hard drive) and then open your “Windows” folder. Inside the “Windows” folder, you will find the “Fonts” folder. Copy the font file into this “Fonts” folder.
Paste the font file into your C:WindowsFonts folder to use the new font.
That’s it! That’s all there is to downloading new fonts to use! However, if you have your design application open, some require you to close the program and reopen it before your font will be visible to use.
Now you can create new and edgy designs using unique fonts! In spite of this, if you’re like us, searching for fonts can be addictive and time consuming! It will suck you in to the infinite world of fonts! Enjoy! Remember if you create artwork with fonts you download you will need to convert it to curves before you upload it to us. Plus, if you upload art with a font you downloaded, list the font name in our upload notes area. This will help us if we need to make changes to your art.
Caution: Be very careful on what you are downloading fonts. There are many viruses on the internet so make sure what you are downloading is safe. Stick to safe sites that you can trust. If you are unsure of a site, it is best to stay away from it.

We’re a patriotic bunch, here at STAHLS’ Transfer Express. Flags are waving, banners are soaring, and Lenny Schiavone just cooked a whole bunch of hot dogs for us to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend!

The image quality is comparable to direct screen-printing, digital printing, or litho. However, the finished product gives you a very soft hand (not plastic-y like those other guys), and it applies in only 4 seconds!
