How to Order Small Screen Printed Transfer Numbers

Do you need a small number to place in a clip art such as a baseball, one to put on a sleeve or even to place on a cap? We have numbers available in sizes as small as 1”. To order, use Express Names™ and enter numerals instead of letters. Enter a row of digits or the specific digits you need. If ordering 1” numbers you can fit 8 in a row, at the 2” size you can fit 12 digits, at the 2.5” size you can fit 10 digits and at the 3” size you can fit 8 digits. These numbers are low cost, only $1.55/row and easy to apply with your heat press in just 4 seconds! You can peel them off to position the application or cut the release paper and apply with the paper backing, peeling off after pressing.
What is the Shipping Cost?

One of the most frequently asked questions when placing your custom transfer order is about shipping costs. These costs are set by the carriers, Federal Express and UPS. You can choose which of the carriers will work best for you. Both companies offer similar services at similar costs. Shipping cost is based on how far it will go, how fast you need it, the size and the weight. The type of packaging does not affect the cost. For example, even if you buy a few Express Names™, we use our “pizza” box, as the size of the box does not affect cost. This type of box will protect your purchase as opposed to sending them in an envelope that may bend.
The least expensive shipping method is Ground. With either ground service your package will arrive in 1-4 days depending on your location. Most packages weigh about 2-5 pounds (the carriers always charge for the minimum weight of 2 pounds) and will cost $8-$12.
If you are in the Midwest, ground is the best way to ship. For those outside of the Midwest region we have negotiated a special rate, called Speedy Air. With this service you will get your package via air in 2 working days, anywhere in the continental United States, for the price of ground. So no matter where you are located your package arrives in just 2 days!
If you need your package guaranteed overnight you will need to use a Next Day Air Service. There are two types of next day air services—next morning or next afternoon. The morning service costs more and will deliver your package by 10:30 am to most commercial addresses. If you are located in a residential or rural area this package should arrive by noon. The typical cost for a 2-5 pound package sent Next Morning is approximately $30-$35. The second type of air service, saves a little money and is Next Afternoon. To commercial addresses in most cities this arrives by 3:30 but can arrive anytime during their delivery day to rural and residential addresses. The typical cost for a Next Afternoon package weighing 2-5 pounds is about $25-$30.
If you choose to have your package sent COD (cash on delivery) a $12 charge is added to pay the carrier to collect the money. You save the COD fees by using a credit card. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.
At Transfer Express we try to reduce costs by using ship groups. Orders scheduled to ship the same day will always be grouped together to ship in one box, for one shipping fee. If you have orders shipping over several days, you can decide if they should be grouped to leave with the latest package or shipped separately based on your time needs. Easy Prints® Pricing: Pricing for screen printed transfers where the artwork came from customizing Easy Prints® layouts in the Idea Book ™ or on the Transfer Express® website.
Easy Prints® Plus Pricing: Pricing for screen printed transfers where the artwork came from your customer or your own artwork that cannot be created using the Easy Prints® layouts.
To read the pricing guides:
1) Size: If 1 image will be on the transfer sheet, start at the Single Images pricing. This is pricing per piece
Note: For designs that are smaller and more than 1 can fit on a sheet, use the Multi-Image “Gang” Sheet pricing.
The subsequent grids under this section are determined by how many “different” images will be on the sheet.
2) Colors: How many colors does your custom design have? Follow the grid lines across until you get to the quantity needed. The pricing shows up to 6 colors, but we can print a lot more than that. Ask whether a digital transfer will be less expensive. It doesn’t matter how many colors you put in those!
3) Quantity: Use the price breaks to save money. Ordering just under a price break may be more expensive than ordering at the next price break. Our Dealer Reps will let you know when you can save money by ordering a few extra sheets. They usually come in handy for last minute fill in orders! Ask a representative for price breaks over 500 sheets.
4) Additional Charges: These charges are special services Transfer Express® has to help you meet your needs. Need your order out faster, need a specific color or a specialty transfer, use these charges to get your order done the way you need it.

When getting started in the t-shirt business there is a tendency to price your service too low. We recommend adding your shirt cost to the printing cost and doubling. This is a fair market price and will cover expenses such as shipping, electricity, your press and most importantly your time, and still make a profit. For example, if your potential customer has a need for 50 shirts with a 1 color print, you may pay $2 for the shirt, and the screen printed transfer will cost $1.66=$3.66. A large number of screen printed transfer orders that come through Transfer Express® consist of 1 image on the sheet that is a standard size adult print (11” wide). At the sheet size of 11.25” x 14”, what happens to the other 4 inches? Well a majority of cases, this space goes to waste because the customer isn’t aware of the possibility to get the most for their money. Other times, this space goes to making the sheet a “gang sheet”. A gang sheet just means there are multiple images on 1 transfer sheet. This is the best way to use the sheet to its maximum potential.
We just recently had an order for a restaurant that needed 25 shirts with a standard size Easy Prints® design in 1 color. We gave the customer the option of maximizing their sheet by adding the logo in a smaller size. Their one concern was, “what is the cost difference?” Per sheet for a full size design the cost was $2.39 a piece. To add 2 smaller images to the sheet the cost is $ $2.60. For just .21 cents, the customer received 2 more images per sheet that can be added to just about anything including polo shirts for the managers, aprons, chef jackets, towels, etc. A great way to get add-on sales without high costs.
Many things can be done with the extra transfers for just cents. Just be creative and look for items that are cotton, polyester or blends of cotton/polyester to add your extra transfers to. You can also use them as samples to show your customers! If you know your customer isn’t going to use the smaller images, add your company logo or the logo of another customer onto the sheet. Otherwise, the extra inches are just paper to be thrown away when it could be money in your pocket.
