We’re a patriotic bunch, here at STAHLS’ Transfer Express. Flags are waving, banners are soaring, and Lenny Schiavone just cooked a whole bunch of hot dogs for us to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend!
Meanwhile, we’re still celebrating the launch of our latest product offering, Transfer Extreme, and its introductory collection of patriotic screen-printed transfers. Since it hit the wires on Wednesday, May 25th, each of our 10 Americana stock designs has been flying off the shelves. (Looks like we’ll have to keep printing!)

Transfer Extreme is really special to us. We enlisted the help of industry-renowned graphics expert, Dane Clement, to create trendy, edgy designs that truly display American Pride. These were screen-printed with plastisol inks using our new, innovative, simulated 4-color process printing method. This provides beautiful graphics, intricate designs, and full, vibrant colors. The image quality is comparable to direct screen-printing, digital printing, or litho. However, the finished product gives you a very soft hand (not plastic-y like those other guys), and it applies in only 4 seconds! Plus, it’s great for both light and dark fabrics; for cotton, polyester, and cotton/polyester material.

Dane created designs that are ideal for all ages, but will especially appeal to the alternative looks that teens and young adults love. Just in time for Memorial Day, they’re perfect for summertime fashion and your customers’ 4th of July Independence Day celebrations.

Today, we are proud to announce the introduction of our newest product. Transfer Extreme™ is a transfer that is screen-printed with plastisol inks using an inventive simulated 4-color printing process. The end result gives your customer a beautifully screen-printed graphic, allowing for extremely intricate designs and vibrant colors. The image quality is very comparable to that of digital transfers, but with the much softer hand of screen-printing.
Other transfer companies offering similar products are forced to deliver you a very hard, heavy graphic in order to deliver similar image quality. Or, they have to sacrifice the quality in order to provide a softer hand. Transfer Extreme provides both quality and soft feel, AND is VERY easy to apply: 4 seconds! Using one of STAHLS’ Hotronix® heat presses set on 365 degrees, Transfer Extreme applies in just 4 seconds. [Transfer Extreme Application Instructions] You can screen-print 4 colors in just 4 seconds! (Well, actually, it’s MORE than 4 colors, but who’s counting?!) Transfer Extreme applies to cotton, polyester, and cotton/polyester material, and works on both light and dark fabric.

Fashionable T-Shirt Printing with Foil

Now you can give your customers a hot new look, for just a little more per t shirt. Our new foil is great for your customers who want today’s fashion trends. It add color and shine to your apparel offerings. Foiling is a two step process; you apply the heat transfer with your heat press and then position the foil sheet over the printed transfer. Sold in 12″x200′ rolls, foil comes in a variety of colors including blue, copper, gold, green, pink, purple, red, silver and effects such as gold splatter, silver splatter, rainbow, silver oil spill and pink zebra.
- 1. Press the transfer according to provided instructions (Goof Proof, Polytrans, Pearl Prints, and Easy Prints Numbers can be used)

The Little Extras–Heat Printing for Profit

Applying transfers to mouse pads or coasters is one way to make extra profit.
One of our customers showed us a couple of heat print additions they have recently done for their local school. The first were coasters they made as favors for a mom/son dance. They ordered inexpensive coasters and used our digital Photo Prints to heat print. The coasters were only .24/each and they were able to fit 20 prints on a Photo Print sheet keeping the cost of the print to under .25. The dance was on a local cruise ship so they used our Easy Prints™ layout QRT-12 and their archived custom clip art. This is a great idea for both prom and wedding favors.
The second idea used some leftover prints from their shirt order. This time a screen printed transfer was applied to a mouse pad and given as gifts at a fund raiser. The Easy Prints™ layout used was QBA-170 and again with their saved custom clip art.

Heat Printing Application Tools

When your t shirt business begins to grow you are more likely to need a few extra tools to help you print on different types of garments other than t-shirts. Below are some tools many of our dealer’s use to create a perfectly personalized garment.
Paper cutters offer a fast, easy way to cut transfer paper sheets as opposed to scissors. If you have sheets by the hundreds to cut, try a guillotine paper cutter. Not only can you cut multiple sheets at once in one clean even motion, it provides a measurement grid for easy alignment. The measurement grid allows for straight cuts that is hard to achieve when cutting with scissors. Guillotine paper cutters and other paper cutters/trimmers can be purchased at your local craft store or office supply store.
A pad to elevate your print area will help get even pressure directly to your print without there being lumps in the way such as seams and buttons. You can use a mouse pad used for your computer mouse or a Print Perfect Pad from Stahls’ ID Direct.
Using a cover sheet keeps graphics from sticking to the top of your heat press platen. You may run into a situation where you will need to cover a previously applied graphic on a garment. Kraft paper or reusable cover sheets can be used to give you a non-stick cover.
