One of our customers showed us a couple of heat print additions they have recently done for their local school. The first were coasters they made as favors for a mom/son dance. They ordered inexpensive coasters and used our digital Photo Prints to heat print. The coasters were only .24/each and they were able to fit 20 prints on a Photo Print sheet keeping the cost of the print to under .25. The dance was on a local cruise ship so they used our Easy Prints™ layout QRT-12 and their archived custom clip art. This is a great idea for both prom and wedding favors.

The second idea used some leftover prints from their shirt order. This time a screen printed transfer was applied to a mouse pad and given as gifts at a fund raiser. The Easy Prints™ layout used was QBA-170 and again with their saved custom clip art.

Let us know how you have creatively used prints for additional profits.

We carry two different types of transfers that are both applied to apparel using a heat press. So which should you use-screen printed or digital?

Screen printed transfers are produced using plastisol ink through a screen. They are produced in spot color in any color or colors for application on cotton, polyester or cotton/polyester blends. They are best to use when needing a print in one to three colors, and/or needing a larger print. Or often when a large run is needed as a pricing advantage is gained with quantity. Screen printed transfers can be printed in as many colors as needed, but often it is less expensive to go digital if there are a lot of colors in a smaller run.

Digital transfers are digitally produced in full process color. There are two types of digital transfers. Photo Prints are full color transfers but can only be applied to white or natural shirts. They are printed on a sheet of clear adhesive that remains on the apparel. Photo Prints can be applied to cotton, polyester or cotton/poly blends and are recommended for full color on white shirts.

The second type of digital transfers are Cad-Printz™. Cad-Printz™ are full color and can be applied to almost any type of apparel including nylon, spandex and Lycra as well as cotton, polyester and poly/cotton blends. Use Cad-Printz™ for full color on dark apparel. Also use Cad-Printz™ when applying to nylon, Lycra or spandex as it is the only type of transfer that can be used on these fabrics. Cad-Printz™ can also be price advantageous for smaller prints that are multi-color.

Still not sure. Don’t worry – our Dealer Service Team will give you a price comparison and help you pick the best transfer for the job! If you have artwork, it can be sent online at www.TransferExpress.com by clicking “Send us your Artwork” and we will call with a recommendation and pricing. Or use an Easy Prints® layouts to create your custom prints and we can help you choose the best transfer type.
