Creating a Point of Purchase T-Shirt Display
Point of purchase (POP) displays for your t-shirt business can be as easy or as complex as you want to make them. These types of displays can show off your apparel that you are selling and help increase sales. There are so many ideas and different ways you can display your custom apparel. Consider these factors to help you to decide what kind of point of purchase displays are best for your t-shirt business.
Probably the first thing you will want to consider is the use of your display. Will you be using your display as more of a permanent solution as part of a store, or will you be taking it on the road to events? I brought this up first because before you even start to think about price, you need to know if you will be moving it frequently or not.
If you plan on keeping it in one place in a store, you can build a more permanent display that is stronger and sturdier. Materials such as wood and metal will be your best bet. It will be durable and will stand the test of time.
On the other hand, if you plan on taking your display on the road to events, you will probably want to choose a display idea that will be more accommodating for travel and assembly. You will need something lightweight, but also something durable to withstand the frequent abuse it will take from setting it up and tearing it down. Moving a display frequently will put a lot of wear and tear on the display, so you will need something durable enough that can take a beating, but light enough that you can move it without tiring yourself out.
Since you are traveling, consider the amount of space you have in your car, van or truck. Something that will collapse enough is more favorable. You also will want to consider how long it takes to put together and take apart. You don’t want to spend a lot time messing with your displays. A simpler assembly will be your friend.
The event itself will affect your display decisions. Think about the events you are attending. Your display needs may be different at each event. Will the event be outside or inside? If it is outside, how’s the weather? How long will the event be? Will it be one day, or over the course of a few days? How profitable is the event you are attending? Asking yourself these types of questions will help determine the best display to take with you. An outdoor display in inclement weather will need to be more durable. A cardboard unit in wet, humid weather for 3 or 4 days may not hold up well. On the other hand, taking a heavy, intricate display that takes several hours to put together for a one-day event may not be worth your time either.
Another thing to consider when thinking about your t-shirt display is price. How much do you want to spend? There are options for every spot on the budget spectrum. If you have a higher budget, you can purchase durable, professional retail-looking displays that run a few hundred dollars into the thousands. On the other end of the spectrum, you can get cardboard displays for as little as $20. However, cardboard displays get beat up easily and will not look good over time if you plan on using them a lot, but are great for temporary displays.
If you are more of a do-it-yourselfer, there are even more possibilities for t-shirt displays. You can create a really cool and unique looking display that is totally budget-friendly. How do you brand your t-shirt business? You will want to take this into consideration when creating your displays to make something that aligns with your brand.
