Can you heat print clear PVC tote bags?
Many sporting, concert and public events are requiring those attending to carry their personal items in a clear PVC bag to help with security. But there is no reason you still can’t show support for the local team by decorating these PVC bags. Here are some tips for decorating:
Adhesive Stickers
Our full color adhesive stickers are low cost and apply without a heat press They will adhere easily to the PVC tote bags and are semi-permanent. With the full color decals, the number of colors in your logo has no effect on the price. Price is based on the square inch size and quantity ordered. This easy to use calculator will give you an instant quote. You can send us the art via upload or use our designer to create the art. To apply remove from the backing and stick to the tote bag.
Elasti Prints
Our low temperature heat transfer Elasti Prints will adhere to the clear PVC bags. To apply, reduce the heat to 250-degree F and after positioning the transfer, cover the entire area with a cover sheet. Apply for 15 seconds and peel cold. The release paper does leave a slight mark on the PVC, so we recommend trimming to just outside the print area to reduce this issue.
Stretch Litho
If you want a full color transfer to heat apply to your PVC bag, we recommend Stretch Litho. Again, use the 250-degree F, and the cover sheet noted above. Apply for 15 seconds and peel cold. The release carrier again leaves a slight mark on the PVC so for this transfer type too, trim the carrier before application. This product becomes one with the bag and gives the best feel.
The PVC bags we used to test were all purchased through Amazon and were a heavy-duty clear PVC. Both Elasti Prints and Stretch Litho are printed on 11.25 x 14 sheets, so you can add a logo for your bag application to the same sheet you are using to heat print your t-shirts.
