Both winners are also offered specialized training on their new equipment.
School Winner-Jayhawk-Linn High School
Our 4th quarter school winner is Jayhawk-Linn High School in Mound City, Kansas. This past year the high school started their school store, Red Thread. The store creates custom apparel for school classes, clubs and sports. In addition, local businesses have also started ordering! The store operation is used in the school’s Introduction to Business, Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Graphic Design Project Management classes. The store has allowed the students to follow project creation from brainstorming to design, to creation, to product sales and business follow-up.
Small Business Winner-Country Hillside Designs
The small business winner is Country Hillside Designs in Ryder, North Dakota. Country Hillside Designs is a small town rural business offering custom apparel decorated with embroidery, vinyl, digital and screen printed transfers. Country Hillside is excited to add professional equipment to their location. They are in the process of adding a display area and improving their website. An open house this spring is on their agenda, once their new equipment is in place and operational. They want to provide better and faster service to their customers. They believe that no matter where your business is located, if you give great customer service people will come to you!
