Heat Press Transformation Shop Visit

As part of our commitment to you to become confident heat decorators, we have started a video series called “Heat Press Transformation.”      With the help of industry expert Marshall Atkinson, we will be visiting t-shirt businesses to offer suggestions on becoming more efficient using the heat press to print apparel.

Marshall Atkinson has been teaching industry trade show classes for over 20 years. He has a regular column in Screen Printing Magazine entitled “The Marshall Plan” He also has authored articles for Printwear, now Graphics Pro Magazine and Impressions.

Our first visit is to Kampus Klothes, a family owned, one stop shop located just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They offer direct screen printing, embroidery, and heat decoration.  Kampus Klothes also have a few large college accounts including Villanova, Drexel, and Temple.

Like so many in our industry, the founder of Kampus Klothes, started offering custom apparel as a side business while working as a school teacher, He has since grown the company into a full service decorating facility that is celebrating 39 years.    The biggest area of growth is in online sales.  Heat press decoration is the way these stores can be serviced quickly. Their biggest challenges are time and space so they can  get their orders out quickly to the customer.

In this first video Marshall worked with the Kampus Klothes team to see where they were struggling and how they could improve efficiency. Watch the video to see how some of the solutions can work for you.
