This UltraColor Creative Winner Started Her Business When the World Shut Down

We are so excited to announce the October winners of #UltraColorCreative Instagram contest.   Both winners will receive a $250 product credit.

Starting A T-shirt Business During the Pandemic

Our first winner is Sara Hickman Designs.     Sara started the t-shirt portion of my business on 3/20/20. Yes, she knows the exact date because it was the same day, she was let go from her job due to a global pandemic. She bought a license for Spirit Sale and a Cricut and never looked back. For those first 2 years she was almost strictly one or two color heat transfer vinyl.  Cutting and weeding everything herself.   She would order Ultracolor Soft when needed.  When the hot peel and Ultracolor Max were released, she fell in love. It is now virtually the only thing she uses.  She uses it for everything from one color to full color illustrations.

Her largest client base are youth organizations, sports and performing arts. Most of her clients have some sort of fundraising aspect to them as well. When she is talking to a potential customer she notes, “I don’t want to have your uniforms, or team wear. I want to fill your stands, those are my people. My shirts are so great they are going to want to wear them on Tuesday to the grocery store and again on game day. Spreading the word about your team and organization more than just game day.”

Ultracolor Max and Spirit Sale has gave her a unique edge from traditional screen printers and has allowed her to run with a print on demand model and keep her business in her house. She has the ability to meet the smallest of needs, keep overhead low and the flexibility needed to take care of two busy kids.

Spirit Sale and Ultracolor Max have been true game changers for me and my business.

Growing Family Business

Our second #UltraColorCreative winner is Kampus Klothes.   Kampus Klothes is a family owned and operated screen printing and embroidery business.    The founder was a school teacher and started screen printing as a side hustle in his basement.   He quickly had exponential growth and the company was born.

Kampus Klothes is a complete team outfitter with a variety of customers in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.   They supply uniforms to many college teams as well as local school and community sports programs.   They also do spirit wear for many schools and organizations.    They also have business accounts that they supply corporate apparel.  All of their decorating is done on site.

UltraColor Max has become a favorite to help fulfill smaller online orders or add orders of lower quantities.   They love the ability to gang a bunch of different logos together at a reasonable price with quick turnaround.   UltraColor Max has helped them keep up with the demand of filling orders quickly and has cut down on the number of screens needed daily for their lower quantity, multi color orders.    They order several gang sheets daily since Max launched.   They are also big users of Express Names and screen printed transfer numbers.
