Observing Patriot Day
Most of us remember where we were on September 11, 2001. It was a beautiful fall day here in Cleveland, and I remember many of our customers calling us just to talk as we watched the tragedy unfold. One of our team members had a son who worked in the World Trade Center and we also prayed he was safe—fortunately he was one of the fortunate who had taken a vacation day.
Now 15 years later, we observe this day as Patriot Day, a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Our lives forever changed that day. We realized our home soil was not as safe as we once believed. Flying forever changed. We now get scanned and are limited to what we can bring on a plane. Only those who are taking a flight can go to the gate.
If your city or school is having a service in honor of the nearly 3,000 that lost their lives that day, you might want to have custom shirts with a special message. We are donating a portion of all proceeds to our local VA hospital, thanking those who attempt to keep our lives safe, and encourage you to do something similar with your proceeds in your area.
