How to Custom Print Shoes with Transfers

One of the best features of the Hotronix® heat presses is the availability of interchangeable platens. We have just added a new platen that will allow you to heat press shoes! The new shoe platen can be added to the Maxx®, Auto Clam or FUSION® to decorate sneakers, cleats and even slippers.

Decorate shoes for students, athletes, fashion and more!

Two shoes can be decorated at one time, making this a simple and easy add on sale. You can use screen printed transfers or rhinestone transfers to custom decorate your shoes. All of our heat applied transfers will work on canvas shoes.

When ordering your screen printed transfers, we can add a row of small designs that will fit perfectly on shoes.  For just a few cents more, you can add sales and make more money. You can press up to a 2” x 4” image on many adult and children’s shoes with the shoe platen. Tip – measure the print area on the shoe before ordering; many have decorative seams that you may need to work around.

Some custom printed shoe ideas are the school mascot and name for school sales, or the team name for sport’s teams. What cheerleading or dance team wouldn’t want to add a little sparkle to their shoes with their group’s name? You can use glitter ink or rhinestones!

To decorate your shoes:

I was just thinking of buying a hat press from you. Would I be able to press shoes with any of the hat press platens? This looks like something I would like to add to my product line, but can’t buy two new heat presses.

If you already have a Hotronix shirt press, you just have to buy the platen for it.

Is there platen to print on the tongue of the shoe?

Hi Marilyn, You have three options: if you have several orders for this part of the shoe you can 1) order a custom platen. If you are pressing the tongue of only a few shoes, you can 2) hold the shoe on the edge of the platen so that only the tongue is getting heat pressed or even 3) lean against the shoe on the side of the platen so that the shoe is on the side of the machine and the tongue is the only part getting heat pressed. I hope that this helps!
