Upsell Replica Jerseys by adding a Jock Tag

If you are selling spirit wear to schools and teams, a popular choice is the replica jersey.    Replica jerseys are a great way for parents, friends and family to show support for an individual player. They are personal with their favorite player’s name and number.     Transfer Express carries wholesale blank jerseys (ST307) that are easy to heat print.    A variety of products including Goof Proof, Elasti Prints, UltraColor Max and UltraColor Pro will work.      These replica jerseys are 100% polyester mesh and are available in black, white, navy, red and royal   They are also available in a ladies’ cut (LST307).   Add a Jock tag to upsell the jersey.

What is a Jock Tag?

A jock tag is the tag on the lower left side of a jersey.   These tags often have the manufacturers logo or on some the team logo.    Roughly about 3” in size they give the replica jersey an athletic retro look.    This past playoff season the NBA added jock tags to all the t-shirt giveaways for the playoffs.   Nike adds a jock tag to their replica baseball wear.   Hockey has been using Jock Tags on uniforms for a long time.    While high end jerseys often use woven tags, an easy to create faux woven tag in UltraColor Max will give your uniform that extra custom look.

Creating the Tag

Start by using the Easy View online designer, start with a rectangle (I used X19A-90) and make it a solid color.   Now add your design.  In this example I used the football pattern and added it to the work Teamwork to give a motivating slogan to my replica jersey order.     I created the jock tag 3” wide x 1.3” tall and the cost to do this transfer in UltraColor Max was just .30!

Appling the Tag

The replica jersey I used is a mesh.   With mesh a cover sheet slips between the layers to prevent the ink from poking through..   Application directions are provided with my UltraColor Max order 290 F temperature applied for 15 seconds and peeled hot.
