Stretch Litho™ on your Heat Press. A Look at Application Instructions

We are seeing a huge interest and need for the new heat transfer, Stretch Litho™. A lot of samples have gone out and our fans are loving the benefits of this amazing decoration method. Customers needing a soft, full color digital, durable transfer media to heat apply to their blank apparel finally have found their solution.

Stretch Litho™ combines the best of both screen printing and digital printing processes. If you have used these transfers, you’ll notice the application is unlike our other transfer types. The application instructions are provided with every order and it is important to follow along and make sure all of the steps are completed before your finished shirt is complete.

Let’s take  a look at how a Stretch Litho™ is heat applied onto a shirt.

Your heat press should be set at 275 degrees with a Medium-Firm Pressure or (50-70psi). This will display as 5-7 on Hotronix® heat presses.

  • Lay your blank apparel on your heat platen.
  • Preheat our apparel for 3-5 seconds, removing moisture and wrinkles from the fabric.

  • Position your transfer. You will be able to visually see your design through the translucent transfer paper. This helps align the design where you need it.
  • Lock down the heat press and apply for 11-15 seconds.
  • This is a COLD PEEL transfer, so set the printed shirt off to the side to cool before peeling the transfer paper.

  • Once COLD to the touch, Peel off the translucent transfer paper in a smooth even motion.

  • You will notice the print edges look jagged. This is normal because you’re not finished yet. The final step will clean those jagged lines.
  • For the second application, cover the applied transfer with the cover sheet so you can read “THIS SIDE UP”.
  • Press for an additional 5-7 seconds at 275 degrees.

  • This time, you will Peel the transfer paper when it’s still Warm. Just pause 5 seconds and peel the cover sheet slowly.
