Run and Walk Summer Events

Across the country, especially in the spring and summer months, events such as marathons, 5k and 10k runs and walks are increasing in popularity. People participate in these events for many reasons. Some to give back to a charity, some to get exercise and set goals, and others run just for fun! No matter what the reason, many of the people that participate will join as a team or group to support one another and want to be unified by wearing team shirts, bandanas, headbands, shorts, etc.

With Easy Prints® layouts, you can easily create custom group shirt designs for any run/walk event. We have a Event section in the Idea Book and online that contains Run / Walk design layouts to get you started. You can also venture away from that section and choose a layout from an unrelated category such as the Baseball section, School section or Fashion. For instance, “Team Tie-Dye” (pictured below) chose a script and tail layout from the Baseball section and incorporated a tie dye pattern in the tail.

Runs involving color are perfect for custom t-shirts. Use white shirts so at the end of the run, they become tie-dyed!

You can also incorporate a team name for fundraiser events for charity such as “Team Wieland” or “Walking for Susan” into the design for a more personalized souvenir. Team names are also popular, especially for fun runs such as Eat and Runs, Drink and Runs, Costume Runs, Color Runs, Mud Runs, Glow Runs etc. These type of runs create very unusual and fun team names that can be used in the t-shirt design.

Most running or walking teams will request standard t-shirts to keep their costs down. For these shirts, the Goof Proof® screen printed transfer ink formula is a perfect choice for heat applying to standard cotton or cotton/polyester t-shirts. However, if your customer requests more of a performance t-shirt that is 100% polyester and contains some stretch, for best results, choose the Elasti Prints® screen printed transfer ink formula. These transfers heat apply at a low temperature to protect the heat sensitive polyester fabric as well as provides some stretchability.

Performance wear are popular for runners. Choose Elasti Prints screen printed transfers when applying to 100% polyester performance wear for best results.
